Pink Lemonade Inspired

I'm really into Pink Lemonade at the moment and looking forward to developing a Pink Lemonade line for summer 2011 season. Searching the net I found a few pictures of inspiration. For references of these and other pics please see my Pinterest Board, Laughing Lemon.

Can't get enough of May May

I was cleaning up my desktop today and came across these earlier photos of May and the "making of Laughing Lemon". Thought I would post them in honor of her. Today was her last official day although I know we will see her again. I mean it when I say, she brought the laughter to Laughing Lemon!

This weeks challenge - Merchandising

In preparation for this coming Saturday's photoshoot at the market I am going to try and make more of the original vision for the merchandsing. I found this shot at Mustard & Sage that has the frames that I like. I need things in different scale and going to do more with recognizable color but this is generally the feeling I want to capture (including the one from my original mood board). That's this weeks challenge.

Random Day

How great is Etsy - fantastic that I received my LL stamps today for my packaging. This lady in Costa Rica made them. I love that. Makes the world so much smaller. Also, I've really been wanting to make some savouries for the market on Saturday so tried a Lemon Pepper Rosemary Salt. Going to try it as a seasoning on my roast lamb tonight for dinner.
Finally, I love these Delphinium displays at Whole Foods. I love how steep, vertical and tall they are. I am going to incorporate this thinking into my LL market stand. At least the vision of it.

Mood Boards

I thought it might be interesting to share the early mood boards for the vision of Laughing Lemon. First, with a name like Laughing Lemon, I wanted it to be fun. I envisioned lots of patterns, imperfect, random in nature. The color I was adamant needed to be yellow and turquoise. It's funny how the creative world works. People always seem to be on the same page at the same time. I've been really craving turquoise lately and I guess others have been too. Pantone's color of the year this year is turquoise! I love the contrast. It was David's idea to introduce a hint of red which I love too. Lots of what is pictured has gone into our identity and packaging. Just waiting to get it all together. How I soooooo love and appreciate producer's. The sourcing, the figuring out the sizes, working out shipping, duty and of course timing. My timing is a little out and I am sure a producer would have gotten a better price. O'd to my dear Denise and her team and of course to David for his design brilliance (and patience) these past few months. These pages are what inspired me to make more of this venture than originally intended. Funny what creation can do.

We received our little lemon onesie and bib for Christian today. Gearing up for Saturday!

So this is where it officially starts although I am sure we will take a look back over the last many weeks. For viewers, this is our place to journal LL's progress. Even this blog/template is a work in progress! The biggest challenge in the next few days - get through all these (and 4 more tubs) of organic lemons so we're ready for the Fiddlehead Farmer's Market on Saturday. Crazy. We are definately laughing now.
